Today we want to encourage you to keep moving forward toward your feeding goals and dreams! Every year since 2015 we have celebrated the International Day to Normalize Breastfeeding on 6/27.
Originally, the date represented the first official Normalize Breastfeeding photoshoot. Yet every year, it has become increasingly more difficult to raise awareness about our day that celebrates the support of families feeding their babies biologically because it does not occur during the month of August, which is National Breastfeeding Month. In an effort to better align with our community and celebrate breastfeeding on a local and global scale, we are excited to announce that:
We are, joyfully, moving the celebration to the third Saturday in August, 8/20/22, because now it will represent our initial event that launched this photo project into the world!
Our aim is to make it nationally recognized this year with a state level proclamation in all 50 states. We need your support to make this happen. If you live in your state capital and want to help us accomplish this goal, submit your contact information and we will keep you in the loop as we pursue a proclamation in your state. You can also create a local event to celebrate with others in your city.
This years' theme is "Feed the Dream" as a reminder to each and every lactating parent that it is possible to seek out their desired results to make their feeding goals become a reality. The support is out there and the help is available, but to achieve your feeding goals it will require belief in yourself, inner strength during times of difficulty, and the support of your loved ones to see yourself where you want to be in the future of this journey.
We will soon be applying for funding and accepting donations and launching our new perinatal growth program - Latch the Gap™ soon, so that we can continue to offer (1) scholarships for families, (2) we can begin to offer scholarships for local NBF Day community events, and (3) we can begin to offer scholarships to parents pursuing lactation education online.
Here's the best part...We are now officially operating as a 501c3 tax exempt nonprofit organization with a board of directors, which means that when you shop our brand and educational products, or you make a generous donation, it's a tax write-off for you!
